Who We Are
We provide the capital that builds dreams
The First American Capital Corp. exists to provide responsive and flexible financial products and services to American Indian entrepreneurs. Products and services are designed to address identified needs for gap and leveraged financing to further stimulate business development in Wisconsin Indian Country.
What We Do
In response to the need for American Indian entrepreneurs to have ready access to capital, the American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin (AICCW) created the First American Capital Corp. (FACC). Established in 2002 and launched in 2003, the organization administers a Revolving Loan Fund that offers American Indian entrepreneurs of Wisconsin, both on and off the reservations, a variety of financial products that assists them in the establishment, growth and development of their businesses. FACC states in its mission: “First American Capital Corp. was created for social and economic conditions to enhance the capacity of all American Indian entrepreneurs residing in the State of Wisconsin for access, control, creation, leverage, utilization, retention of financial assets, and to provide appropriate financial capital for Native development efforts.”
FACC is certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and acts as the financial arm of the AICCW. In the fall of 2007, FACC also became the only American Indian Small Business Administration (SBA) Micro-Lender in the country. Its objective is to buffer the training, mentorship and technical assistance support offered by the AICCW and other partners with the finances needed to help bring business ideas to fruition and to facilitate their further growth and sustainability. This flexible fund provides direct loans and gap financing for fledgling businesses. In doing so FACC is able to significantly improve the strength and vitality of Wisconsin’s American Indian community by creating sustained economic growth.
