Health Insurance
Health Insurance Offering Through Humana for AICTA Members

Ten area chambers of commerce including ours have joined together as the Regional Chamber Coalition (RCC) to provide health insurance coverage for their members. RCC has joined with the Business Health Care Group of Southeast Wisconsin (BHCGSW) to partner with local businesses to promote market-driven health care.

The BHCGSW is a coalition of employers working to improve control of escalating health care costs while giving their employees access to efficient health care. BHCGSW began in 2002 when a group of CEOs took a serious look at the health care cost issues in southeastern Wisconsin in an effort to develop solutions. The coalition’s goal is to bring cost-effective, competitive health care to Southeastern Wisconsin.

BHCGSW selected Humana because of leadership in consumerism. Humana offers competitive administrative fees, clinical excellence, and dedicated claims and customer service teams.

In response to demand for transparency in the health care industry, Humana’s high-performance network plan offering was rolled out in 2005. In addition to providing consumers access to health information, the high performance network provides employers cost savings. In 2006, Humana and the Business Health Care Group of Southeast Wisconsin (BHCGSW) are offering a unique Humana Preferred product designed to deliver cost efficiencies to member employers and their employees.

What is Humana Preferred?
Humana Preferred is a series of PPO and/or Open Access plan offeringstied to a high-performance network designed to deliver a cost-effective coverage choice to employers.

BHCGSW’s Member Benefits
  • Exclusive access to Humana Preferred with a high-performance network designed to reduce costs
  • A custom Web portal with health care purchasing information
  • Guidance for consumers to identify and select the most efficient health care providers based on the actual episodes of care cost of services
  • Materials to educate employees on health care and health plan offerings
  • Collective purchasing of health care services yielding economies of scale
Humana Preferred PPO for BHCGSW
  • Wide variety of plan designs
  • Customized benefit plans available for employer groups with 300+ enrolled employees
  • Includes 70 to 75 percent of all currently contracted local Humana PPO providers and hospitals
  • Offered as a point-of-enrollment option only to BHCGSW members
  • Members outside SE Wisconsin will have access to providers belonging to Humana’s broader national PPO network, called the ChoiceCare Network
  • Offered on either a fully-insured or self-insured (ASO) basis

Humana Preferred is a strategic solution designed exclusively for members of the BHCGSW to reduce the cost of health care, help employers and employees make the most of their health care dollar, and encourage active health care consumerism.
